Flying Kites in the Flyways: May 12 Join us and help celebrate bird migration and International Migratory Bird day. Bring you own kite, make a kite or a limited amount of free kites will be provided. Preregistration required.
The SD Outdoor Expo: June 9 The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service with support from the Friends Group provided a highly educational and interactive experience at this annual event held on the SD State Fairgrounds. Look for us at the 2012 Expo!
Huron Prairie Fest: September 15 Most notable of the events we provide is Huron Prairie Fest, which has become a signature event for the Huron community. Huron Prairie Fest is a free, outdoor event featuring environmental educational programs and hands on activities for the whole family.

Creatures of the Night: Come and Explore Creatures of the Night. Owls, bats, and bugs are just a few of the fascinating creatures that thrive under the cloak of darkness.
Wildlife in a Winter Wonderland: If you enjoy the outdoors, but need a little extra motivation to get outside when it is cold, this event is one you won’t want to miss.
Dutch Oven Cooking: If you are interested in going beyond hotdogs and roasted marshmallows on your next camping or hunting trip, then Dutch oven cooking may be for you. We will teach you the basics of using camping Dutch ovens.
