Winter Fest: Feb 22, 2014 1-3 PM. Come and enjoy the outdoors at Maga Ta-Hohpi. Activities and hot cocoa provided by the Friends Group and US Fish and Wildlife Service. We will also be snow shoeing (weather permitting) Please check Facebook! page for any cancellattions due to weather.
Friends Group Annual Meeting: March 6 at noon at the Huron Chamber of Commerce. Please come join our annual meeting or monthly meetings at the Huron Chamber of Commerce. Friends Group meetings are typically at noon on the first Wednesday of the Month. Join our mailing list to be notified of Friends Group Meetings. We also have seperate meetings to plan Prairie Fest.
Come see us at the Huron Outdoor Show: We will have a booth at the Huron Outdoors show at the Huron Arena.on March 22 - 23. We will be giving two presentations on Dutch Oven cooking during the show one on Saturday and one on Sunday.
Dutch Oven event with Huron Izaak Walton League Free fishing day: May 17 come and enjoy some snacks prepared with outdoor Dutch Ovens. Enjoy the free fishing day at Ravine Lake shelter (west side shelter). Bait and lunch provided by the Isaac Walton League.
Nature Fun Day: June 21 Come to Maga Ta-Hohpi for a day of fun interactive activities for all ages.
Huron Prairie Fest: September 13 Most notable of the events we provide is Huron Prairie Fest, which has become a signature event for the Huron community. Huron Prairie Fest is a free, outdoor event featuring environmental educational programs and hands on activities for the whole family. Our theme for this year is the wonder of birds. A presentation will be given by the Black Hills raptor center at 3:00pm.
